Longmont, CO - 24 March 2007

The CD is now widely available, iTunes, CDBaby, Napster, etc.  Over 100 have been shipped in the last month.  The band played on 10 February 2007 to about 100 people.  There were a few rough spots but the crowd liked what they heard and wanted more.  A 4 song encore capped off the night.

The band has unfortunately come to an end.  Due to Gord's day job a relocation is necessary to the Kansas City area.  This will make it very difficult to perform in the Longmont area.  So the final line up has decided to look for other musical outlets.  Mike and Jerry are contemplating starting something local, Rich is looking for a new project, and Gord will continue writing and recording.  His objective is to work on some new stuff over the next year and have a recording get together in the studio he will be building into his new home in eastern Kansas.

Rock has these bumps in the road.  We all are still going to be engaged musically, and hopefully there will be opportunities to play and record together in the future.  It has been fun and has produced a sound and vibe that can only be recognized as "JudgementDay"

Mike Sadowski is trying to put together a benefit for "Breast Cancer Research" with the members in JudgementDay.  So there may be one last performance.  Check here to see if we pull it together, it will be advertised here if we are going to do anything.

Longmont, CO - 28 January 2007

The CD is complete and currently being mass produced.  It will be available for wide distribution in mid February.  Contact a band member to get your copy.  The name of the CD is  "the right sea test...so far".  It has 16 songs and is packaged in a 6 panel digipak.  A pre CD release party is set for 10-February-2007 and we are still finding a suitable place to do the OFFICIAL CD RELEASE PARTY.  In a few weeks it will also start to be available on iTunes and other e-music sites.  Get your copy now.

Longmont, CO - 18 December 2006

The CD is nearing completion.  The current working name is "Reborn - the right sea test...so far".  It has gone through a few different incarnations.  We are now on our third mixing engineer and we expect only one more session to complete the work.  It has been quite a long summer and the sound has taken a few different directions.  It is still a 16 song CD, it has been tested a bit with Taxi A&R folks and their input is being used to create a product that we are very proud of.

We are also in the final stages of refining our stage act.  On 20-January-2007 we are going to perform at a private party.  The CD should be ready shortly after that performance.  We are then going to have a Public CD Release Party at a local Longmont, Colorado Venue.

Watch for us - this stuff is sounding really good, lots of harmonies, songs with funky stops, and lyrics with deep meaning (if I do say so myself).  See you in 2007 in a city near you.

Broomfield, CO - 28 April 2006

The 1 April 2006 recording sessions went great.  Jim and Craig flew in from Michigan and California respectively.  We worked a very long day and completed 17 songs.  There were two casualties in the recording though.  One song Alone is relegated to the reject pile, and South Sea (Honeymoon) has changed its name and has to be redone, it was just not acceptable.  We are also changing a few of the other titles:  Glory is now "Stand Together (Glory)", Judgement Day is now "One Rose (Judgement Day)", The Beginning is now just "Beginning", Winds of Fall is now "In My Heart (Winds of Fall), My Baby Doesn't is now "Think of Her All the Time (My Baby Doesn't), and Broken Hearts is now "Clearly See (Broken Hearts)".  This was done at the advice of the A&R folks at Taxi to create more connection of the titles and the song lyrics.  This is a departure for me in two ways - I am taking constructive criticism, and I thought my song naming was eclectic so I am really giving into the MAN.  Much of what we did in the studio was to create a more commercial product to get a little more notice - there are many bridges, lyrics are changed in line with some suggestions from Taxi, and titles, oh the titles.

The rough cut sounds pretty darn good.  We are going into the studio over the next month to do some more fixes and add some keyboards, sax, percussion, lap steel guitar, backing vocals, and hell maybe even a Tuba (you know anyone?).  We have Bryce Boynton helping us with Keyboards, and have percussion, lap steel and backing vocals ready to go.  Sax and Tuba are our current needs.

JudgementDay has submitted the Thanks Mary CD to an Independent Writers competition.  And it along with Our Wedding are being judged against over 135,000 CD's in a Just Plain Folks competition.

Finally, we are going to gig a bit - we feel that there are many songs that are ready for primetime and we a looking at some local clubs to play at, as well as parties.  We have one booked it is a HS graduation party at the end of May.  Should be fun.  All for now, I will keep you posted.

Longmont, CO - 20 December 2005

Just to catch everyone up with what is going on with JudgementDay here before the holidays.  The two JudgementDay CDs are available through CDBaby in physical CD form.  They can also be digitally obtained through many avenues, including Bestbuy.com, iTunes, Musicmatch, and many other services.  If you cannot find what you want send an email to the band and we will make sure you are taken care of.  I cannot guarantee deliver by Christmas but if you let me know soon I can turn it around quickly, and you will see it within a week.

JudgementDay is preparing for a 2006 recording session targeted for early April 2006 with project completion and distribution of the CD by the end of next year.  The line up of the band looks like:

Mike Sadowski - drums

Jim Rainbolt - Bass and some lead guitar

Craig Small - Guitar

Jerry Boynton - Lead guitar

Kris Bruno - vocals and percussion

Gord Wolfgang - vocals and rhythm guitar

We are still looking for a keyboardist, a tenor sax player, and additional vocalists.  This project does not have the same time constraints for delivery that the last two have had and most of 2006 will be focused on recording and perfecting the work.

The songs will likely be:

1. A New Life - ALL NEW
2. The Beginning - ALL NEW

To all around the world - Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, Happy Kwanza, and may 2006 be the year of newness rebirth and revitalization for everyone.  Happy New Year.  Also look for an early April 2006 open rehearsal/party of the band as we prepare for our recording sessions.

Longmont, CO - 20 July 2005

Thanks to CDBaby all JudgementDay material is being distributed electronically through digital distribution sites including iTunes, Yahoo Music and the like.  Don't be the last one on your block with this music.

Longmont, CO - 8 May 2005

Thanks Mary is now available on CDBaby, soon it will be available at Borders, and if you want one today, call or see Gord or someone else in the band to get yours.  There have been over 100 distributed to fans across the country, and the feedback is good.  The band is now working on setting up a worldwide tour to promote the CD, as well as they continue to work on new material for another CD targeted for a 2006 release.

Longmont, CO - 1 April 2005

This is no joke, the Thanks Mary CD that Gord committed to produce in October 2003 has been PRODUCED and is in MANUFACTURE right now.  JudgementDay went into the studio on 13 February 2005, and have knocked out a 19 song CD.  Fixing, Mixing and Mastering occurred over the next several weeks, and is at Discmakers being put together as we speak.

The CD is in part the completion of a commitment that Gord made at his wife Mary's funeral.  The first 13 songs including a re-performance of Sunset Girl are dedicated to Mary.  The last 6 songs are a mix of different styles and topics from family life to a Buffettesque song about a cruise in the Caribbean.  There is nearly 72 minutes of new music.

The band lineup included:  Mike Sadowski on drums, backing vocals and other percussion fills.  Jim Rainbolt returned providing some ripping lead guitar and steady creative bass lines.  Craig Small provided his high energy guitar, backing vocals, and made sure we produced the songs as written.  He also helped Jim through some particularly difficult lead licks.  Tony Fiore, a new member to JudgementDay as well as the owner of Globalsound Studios, played bass in most places where Jim provided the lead guitar as well as some guitar, percussion, backing vocals, and hell he was the engineer of record doing most of the mixing.  Michael Hoog performed the guitar on one track - Love Song.  Bill Wolfgang performed on The Feelings and Sunset Girl, in honor of his mom.  Gord continued in his place of lead singer and rhythm guitar player.  Unfortunately we were unable to get Mike Gemborys and Tessa Dvorak to reprise their keyboard performances, there was a bit of a contract dispute.  No, no, Mike has work and family commitments in Michigan, and Tessa is in her Junior year at CU and wants to keep her studies primary in her mind at this time.

Here is a list of the songs as they will appear on the new CD, THANKS MARY:

You can see the lyrics to these songs by following this Lyrics Link.

Look for the CD at Borders in Longmont, CDBaby, and available through any of the band members.  This is a good one, and it is all for Mary.  It is expected to be released on 8 May 2005, Mary's Day aka Mothers Day.

Vatulele, Fiji - 13 January 2005

Bula from the South Pacific.  Susan and Gord have been all over the Yasawa chain of Fiji Islands, the main Island in Nadi, Fiji, and on Vatulele a resort just south of the main Island.  This includes the location where Blue Lagoon was filmed.

Susan and Gord left for their honeymoon on 2 January 2005 for Nadi, Fiji, making a connection in LAX.  This provided for a very long day.  2+ hour flight to LA, a layover of about 5 hours and then a flight to Fiji taking 11 hours.  We left Sunday afternoon and after crossing the dateline we got there Tuesday morning.  We lost our Monday.  We checked in an went for a run a sea level to get the cob webs out and start the holiday off right.

We stayed at the Sheraton Royal Denarau for two nights.  Sun the first day a little rain the second.  So on the second day we decided to take a drive around the island.  Driving on the left side of the road is quite interesting.  It is more challenging running down the sides of the roads, we looked the wrong way several times whilst crossing the streets...  No one was injured, fortunately.  We had a great dinner that night at the Port 'o Call.

The next day we awoke, went on another run and then set off to board the Yasawa Princess to go on a 4 day 3 night cruise of the Yasawa island chain.  We stopped each night and anchored.  The water is indeed as blue as you have seen, the people were nice, and there were only 33 state rooms.  We met a lot of new people and had a wonderful time.  The food was good, drink was available, and the weather was great.  We went running on a few of the islands that we anchored near.  Also did some snorkeling, went on a ride in a glass bottomed boat to see the reefs, performed in an international skit night on the beach after a beach pig roast.  We wrote a song and performed it in front of all of our boat mates....came in tied for second place...the FIJI ship hands won.  It was a competition between each of the different countries represented.

After the cruise, and due to a screw up in our itinerary we had to charter a sea plane to bring us to Vatulele.  It was great, smooth as glass landing, and the pilot was a Canadian from the Northwest Territories....talking about a climate change.  The folks on Vatulele met us at the shore with champagne...escorted us to the meal area and we had our first meal on the island... my sandals were not even dry.  They then showed us to our own Bure (a thatched roof building).  It was about 3200 square feet including the lanai.  HUGE.  We had our own hunk of beach outside the door.  It got to 100 degrees most days, the sun was great...Susan is still sporting a tan (here nearing the end of February).  There were no phones, newspapers, TV's, and very limited connection with the outside world.  To call room service you put a flag out in the middle of the beach and the folks would come down and see what you needed.  And you could order anything.  We went ocean kayaking, swimming several times, on hikes to a cave and an inlet with red prawn, and a romantic picnic lunch on our own deserted island about a mile off shore.  The food and drink were excellent, much fish, venison, pork chops, Fiji babies, wharf coolers, and really what ever you wanted.  We ate one night in the wine cellar, we ate at the waters edge right on the beach one night.  The place was a place to kick completely back, and enjoy your partner in a way we likely will never be able to do again.

Alas, the day came when we had to leave Vatulele and we flew in a small plane back to Nadi.  We again stayed at the Sheraton Denarau for two more nights.  More good food at the Port 'o Call.  On our whole trip we did not see TV, a newspaper, a PC screen, and only used a phone to call home to tell the kids where we were.  The day before we left, Susan had a golf lesson and we played her first 9 holes.  It is a long way to the Senior Lady's PGA, and we will be working on Susan's game this summer.

The time then came for us to leave Fiji.  Back to the airport, a few souvenirs, lots of dirty laundry, memories and experiences to share for our lives.  It was great... If you are thinking about a get away go to FIJI.  We left Fiji at 11:30pm on the 15th of January, and we actually arrived in Denver at about 9:30pm on the 15th.  We got home before we left.  It is that old international dateline pay back.  Take a look at the pictures on the honeymoon pages.

Lincoln, NE - 20 November 2004

This following is a recount of the events that transpired recently for Susan and Gordon Wolfgang's wedding weekend and following week.

The rehearsal dinner was a recreation of New York City in Milford, NE.  The rehearsal happened in the church and we walked across 2nd Street (Central Park South) to the Milford City Park.  The dinner was held at the Webermeier on the Green.  There were horse drawn carriage rides provided, and the food was New York to the nines.  We had pastrami on rye, pretzels, hot dogs, pizza and more.  We had about 50 attend the dinner.  We had invited anyone from out of town to attend and it was great that so many could stop by.  Marty from Milford Market provided the eats with Pizza Kitchen and Pretzel Logic.  The Milford Venture Crew did the serving.

Much of the bridal party stayed at the Milford Margarit-aville bed and breakfast for the days in Milford.

The ceremony was in Milford NE at the United Methodist Church on 2nd Street on 20 November 2004, at 5:30 sharp.  There were about 100 in attendance.  The ceremony featured a bride in a beautiful white dress, 1 matron of honor, 4 attendants, 2 candle lighters, 1 groom, 2 best men, 3 groomsmen, and a three legged dog named Lucky.  There was a little problem with putting down the white runner, but it was just a small concern.  Susan turned the corner to enter the church just as imagined and the lyrics from the song "Our Wedding" fit perfectly.  The two took their vows, the trumpets blared - Tom Kelly soloist, the organ chimed in - Connie Lindquist, those in attendance applauded, and all was good in the world.  Incidentally, in order not to have any problems we had three men of the cloth available just in case they were not able to get through the festivities.  We did not have to have the runner up dress for the event.  Rev. Jim and Rev. Dr. Richard Shaw did the officiating.  The sound was coordinated by Gary TeSelle and the sanctuary was regaled with decorations by Char TeSelle, and flowers provided at the church and reception hall were done by Angel from Merle's Flower Shop.  The Tuxes were provided by Best Style Formalwear, and all the dresses were from David's Bridal.

All jewelry was provided by Tiffany's.

The couple then were whisked off to the wedding reception in a 1957 turquoise and pearl white stretched Chevy Limo.  It was beautiful and much of the wedding party took the ride to Lincoln.  The back seat is how I remember back seats from 50's cars, the springs were shot, it was a blast from the past.

The reception was in the Apothecary Loft http://www.lincolnhaymarket.com/lofts.htm in Lincoln, NE.  A beautiful place.  About a hundred were in attendance there too.  The food was great - Clams Casino, Oysters, Stuffed Mushrooms, Lamb Chops, chicken and beef of course, and much more provided by Hillis Catering.  A string quartet graced us with their presence - The Fall Creek String Quartet, played for a while.  The cake was a beautifully decorated 3 tiered structure with Chocolate Raspberry, White Lemon and Carrot Cake for the anniversary cake, provided by Jeri.  The best cake I have ever tasted.  The reception was similar to southern wedding receptions, in that it was hoped to be more stand up cocktail tables for the heavy appetizer foods.  Also it afforded the couple to go table to table to meet and greet all the guests.  It was a very good time.  Terry Hickey and Billy Wolfgang then took stage for the toast, well done....The garter was thrown and Jim Eicher was right there in the mix - look for a wedding soon.  Also Tessa Dvorak caught the bouquet, wait a little Tess your rock career is just taking off.  The reception lasted until about 10:00 pm and the couple changed cloths and went to Brewski's for a few drinks before retiring to the Cornhusker for the evening.

During the reception a patched together JudgementDay Band played 5 songs.

Our Wedding

Susan, I Love You

Glory

Red Rose

Judgement Day

The band consisted of Jim Rainbolt on Bass, Craig Small on Guitar, Tessa Dvorak on Piano, Mike Gemborys on Piano, and Gord played guitar and sang.  It was kind of unplugged.  There were comments from those in attendance that the songs were very nice and the band sounded great.  Everyone in attendance got a copy of the CD too.

On Sunday, again everyone was invited to this event as well.  We had a little coffee gathering, catered by Anne Klute of Espresso to You.  About 25 attended.  At this event the bride also opened the gifts that were brought to the wedding and reception.  There was a suburban full going back to Colorado later that afternoon.  We did stop by at the brides grandfathers house for a few minutes before launching onto I 80 for the drive to Longmont.  BTW a 7 hour drive.  It was a long weekend....

The couple then spent the next several days with the Kids at their Longmont home, had a wonderful Thanksgiving meal at the Grush's with all three kids and good friends.  Susan and Gord then went up to Estes Park for a few days at the Stanley Hotel, the one from The Shining.  There was no REDRUM, but there were some beautiful meals, a 3 mile hike in the Rocky Mountain National Park, shopping at the Spruce shop, a foot of snow, and a drive to the ballet.

The couple returned home for preparation for work, and life as we know it has changed.  The week was great.  Everything was just perfect.

There will be pictures posted in the very near future on a special wedding page.  Come back soon to see them.

The couple will be going to Fiji in early 2005 for their Honeymoon.  Look for updates on that next year.

Longmont, CO - 16 October 2004

JudgementDay performed today at the wedding reception for Tony and Margaret Urbano.  Most of the band was together, with notable absences of Mike Gemborys and Jim Rainbolt.  The line up was Mike Sadowski on drums, Craig Small on guitar, Mike Hoog on guitar, Tessa Dvorak on keyboards, and a new player Tony Fiore on Bass.  Gord was also there out front.

They played 2 sets of JudgementDay songs, 21 all original all new songs.  They then were called back on stage to perform 5 more songs, some repeats and Pink Cadillac.  They closed with a completely unrehearsed jam as the crowd asked for more.

The debut of "Cheers", a song written specifically for Tony and Margaret was at the top of second set and was very well accepted.

The CD is still on track for distribution on 20 November 2004 at the next wedding in the bands future.  Look for us to record another CD between Thanksgiving and New Years, Thanks Mary...We will also commit "Cheers" to CD for Tony and Margaret.

Broomfield, CO - 13 September 2004

JudgementDay has completed the 10 song CD "Our Wedding".  It has been mastered and is now in Canada being manufactured.  It will be distributed to all in attendance at the Susan Grimes/Gordon Wolfgang wedding on 20 November 2004.  It will also have limited distribution through Border's Book Stores and CD Baby on the web.

Once again I thank all the players:  Mike Sadowski, Drums and Percussion; Michael Hoog, guitar; Craig Small, guitar; Michael Gemborys, keyboard; Tessa Dvorak, keyboard, and Jim Rainbolt, Bass and lead guitar.  Also our thanks to Tony Fiore, Lydia Fiore, Dave Moll, and John Taylor at Globalsound Studios for their help, patience and guidance through the recording, fixing, mixing, and mastering process.  We are working with World Replication Group in Toronto, Canada to do the manufacturing, thanks to them as well.

The band is now preparing for another CD production later this year and early in 2005 of the "Thanks Mary" CD.  And finally, we are trying to make a gig request work.  The band has been asked to play at a wedding reception for Margaret Ludlow and Tony for sometime in October.  We will play a mix of originals and covers.  Maybe you will be one of the 100 or so folks invited to the reception.

That is all for now - talk to you soon.

Broomfield, CO - 17 July 2004

JudgementDay was in the studio for ten hours today recording their debut CD, "Our Wedding".  The session went great.  Gord, Mike Sadowski, Michael Hoog, Tessa Dvorak, Craig Small and Jim Rainbolt were all there.  They got all 10 songs destined for the CD ready to mix and are on schedule for production in late September.  Tony, Dave and Lydia of Globalsound Studios were there to help the band get their job done.  The band brought their "A" game and ripped through all 10 and some were done in one take.

Jim Rainbolt traveled from Michigan, and provided great bass lines and a few keeper 6-string guitar leads.  A little more fixing and additional tracks for a few songs and the project will be in the can.

Thanks to all that were there lending moral support.  As well as my thanks to all the players that were there - we are a great team.

We will be starting rehearsal soon to get ready for our next project "Thanks Mary".  Recently renamed from "Thank You Mary"

Longmont, CO - 23 June 2004

The final touches have been put on the JudgementDay song line up for the new CD, "Our Wedding"  Ten Songs all listed on the "Our Wedding" CD Lyrics Link...Mist on the Creek will be on a future CD, but the lyrics are shown on that page - click here.  The working title for this CD has changed as you can see since early May.  The marathon recording sessions will start on July 16 with a studio rehearsal with the entire band, and then recording session on July 17th.  We should walk away from the Studio with all songs only needing, fixing, mixing, adding a few final touches, and mastering.  We expect the project will be ready for mass production in September, and a 300 unit initial order ready for distribution at Susan and Gord's wedding on November 20, 2004.

You can see the CD Artwork by clicking here.  This is draft mode, but should be pretty close to the final version.  The band is also coming together nicely.  Rehearsals are yielding tremendous growth of the individuals as well as the songs.  We have Tessa Dvorak on Keys, Mike Sadowski on the Skins, Craig Small and Michael Hoog on Guitar.  Jim Rainbolt on Bass, and he will be adding some lead licks to the CD as well.  Michael Gemborys has signed up to add some addition Keyboard and Guitar tracks in August.  And of course Gord is there with all the other mates.

Today is Billy Wolfgang's 15th Birthday...if you see him wish him a happy.  Kris is 16, and Meg is 20.  We are all have a wonderful summer going to Sox games, Kristen's softball tournaments, a little golf, lots of music, some wine and all with Love.  Susan is now such a central part of our lives.  The wedding plans are going on swimmingly.  We will be married at 5:30 pm Central Daylight Savings time on November 20, 2004.  The wedding is in Milford, Nebraska...near Lincoln.  The rehearsal dinner, the night before, will be across the street at Milford's Central Park, at the Milford Met.  Horse drawn carriages will be provided with a NY City food fare.  Should be much fun.

On Saturday, Wedding Day, we will have the ceremony, and then go to Lincoln, to the Apothecary Lofts for a reception.  The happy couple will spend that night somewhere in Lincoln, and return to home in Longmont, Colorado that Sunday.  We also expect to spend the following weekend at a mountain get away in Colorado...the real honeymoon will be after the first of the year for 14 days in Fiji.

That is all for now, come here often to get the news.....Look for the recording of "Thank You Mary" in early 2005.

Longmont, CO - 3 May 2004

ofb42 performed for its last time on 31 December 2003.  There were 3 sets at the annual Wolfgang New Years Eve party.  About 50 people attended the party.  The first set contained the Iggy songs, the second set was an acoustic set of songs dedicated to Mary, Gord's wife, and the third set was a very hot set of ofb42 classic songs, off their first CD, ...the search goes on.

Look for "LOVE:  The Next Chapter, my Susan" CD to be released sometime in 2004, just in time for the wedding.  The CD will be distributed to all in attendance.  Also there will be a CD dedicated to the memory of Maryann Goodell Wolfgang soon, look for early 2005.  It will be titled "Thank You Mary".

Longmont, CO - 14 August 2003 ofb42 performed 4 songs at the Third Avenue Opera House tonight.  The house band with Richie played a 7 song set and after a quick change over ofb42 took the stage and performed:

Don't Always Do What I Say

Unfulfilled Dreams

Into the Breach

Hope

The crowd of about 100 patrons were appreciative of the performance and were happy to hear the new sound from ofb42.  It is the bands expectation that we play a short set like this at the Opera House once a month.  Come out to the web site to see when we will be there again.

Longmont, CO - 7 August 2003

ofb42 is once more in a creative mood.  Weekly rehearsals are now turning into new material development opportunities.  The guys got together after a lay off of over 1 month.  During this reunion the band developed 4 ALL new songs.  Adding these to the ones that debuted in July, ofb42 has a good start at 7 new songs for the next CD.  The guys will be going into the recording studio sometime in October or November 2003.  Look for the CD - Ignatius Spewman to be released in 2004.

There is also a very good chance that the band will be performing 4 songs at a local open mic opportunity.  The 3rd Avenue Opera House located at the corner of 3rd and Main in Longmont, CO is the location.  This kind of format is tough to really call, we are going to try to get onto the stage sometime near 9 pm.  Hope to see you there.

Longmont, CO - 5 July 2003

ofb42 once more had a great time performing for the folks over on Button Rock Court.  The band went on a few minutes before 2:00 pm and played three sets of prepared material and a short encore.  The third set and encores were performed without Brian York.  Unfortunately during the intermission between the second and third sets, Brian's son Colin was injured and Brian with his lovely wife Kathy spent several hours at the Longmont United Hospital Emergency Room.  Colin was patched up and brought back about 8:30 pm.  Check out the new pictures in our photo gallery - Click here.

The party had nearly 100 in attendance, and the band was hot.  The set list is shown below:

As with last year there was plenty of food, time for conversation and great weather.  Even though Rick and Dave were not 100% physically at the start of the gig, they both performed commendably.  There were ripping leads by Dave and creative and steady base lines by Rick throughout the afternoon.  Mike was also rock steady as usual, and with all the extra cymbals and additional floor tom he gave more to the adoring fans than they expected.  Brian was superior with percussion, harmonics, backing and lead vocals, that is until the third set.  We missed Brian's presence, any piece missing from the band does have an impact, but we struggled through.

The end of the night came, time to knock down, and bring the stuff back to the rehearsal hall.  Everything went great there too, but there was something different than last year, no visit from the local police.  They never showed up, we missed them too.

After the gig, a few of the guys got together to work on some new songs for our next CD.  Look for the CD, featuring a 5 songs opera about Ignatius Spewman, coming out sometime early in 2004.

And finally, we all hope that Colin York's injuries heal fast and he back on his feet quickly.

Longmont, CO – 21 June 2003

ofb42 performed at the BORDERS STORE on Hover Road in Longmont Colorado, to many adoring ofb42 fans and loads of new fans brought to us by Harry Potter.  The guys came on stage at just past 3:00 pm and played a three set concert of all original songs.

These are the sets they played:

Broomfield, CO - RECORDING SESSION NEWS  – 28 December 2002

The band has spent most of December rehearsing for the studio recording of the first CD project for ofb42.  The working title is "...the search goes on".  Click here to read the Lyrics to the songs on this new CD.  It has always been a dream of the band to record a CD with all original compositions.  Well as I sit here after the last recording session we now have all the basics for the 14 songs that will appear on this CD.

Many thanks to Tony and Lydia at Global Sounds Studio, they certainly took good care of us during our inaugural recording session.  The band certainly endorses them - check out their web site at www.globalsoundstudio.com

ofb42 expects to have the final touches, mixing and mastering of this debut CD for release in February 2003.  Click Here to send an email to the band to reserve your copy of the CD.  It is expected to be priced no more than $10.00.  Be the first on your block with these new tunes.

On New Years Eve the band will be performing a brief set list for what is filling out to be a big party.  If you want ofb42 at your next event contact us.

Longmont, CO – 23 November 2002

There was a special invitation gig help to introduce several new Original ofb42 Songs.  The objective was to share these songs with a familiar audience and get their constructive feedback.  The night was a success.  The ofb42songs constituted the first set, and the group came back to cover several songs that the band has become famous for performing.

The new songs were received very warmly.  There were some suggestions that will be incorporated into the future performances.  The other objective was to determine which of the new compositions ofb42 should record at our recording sessions, tentatively scheduled for late December.  It is hoped that a release of all original compositions will be ready for distribution by the end of the first quarter of 2003.  The working title of the 10 song album is “…the search goes on.”

We thank everybody that was able to make the gig, the band enjoyed the immediate feedback, and it has inspired us to several new compositions.  Also, during this show we had a new sound engineer behind the boards.  As you all know Mike Bohl has moved to Texas and we are still searching for a permanent replacement.  For this gig, Bill Wolfgang a special guest from Boston, Massachusetts, and former sound engineer for the Peripheral Devices, took the duties of sound engineer.  Bill, the band thanks you.

Thanks to all that were there for this first official release of ofb42 Original Compositions.  The first twelve and the last four are the originals.  Lastly, the band must have lost our touch or Bill kept us too quiet…the police did not visit us once.

Also, look forward to two big events that we are planning for next spring.  One will be a benefit with another band here in Longmont, and the other is the rescheduled victory party that was originally scheduled for November.

Longmont, CO - 28 September 2002 ofb42 played last Saturday night for about 50 fans at the going away party for Anja and Simon.  This will be known as the "Bon Voyage Party".  The guest list was planned and sent out weeks ago, you know it was a private party.  Many folks came from all over the metro Denver area to see this rare September ofb42 appearance.

The band got started at about 8:00 pm.  We had a shorter than normal set list.  Basically, one long set.  This was designed to allow the band to integrate with the invitees.  It was a good idea.  The set really came together...comments were that it seemed relaxed and sounded great.  We did launch kind of tight in the Old Apartment, but finished strong.  During a few breaks in the action we brought Simon and Anja on stage to help with percussion and background vocals.  We also at one point shared the bands gifts with them.  See set list below:

As you can see by this list we have added "Glory Days" and a new original "Memories So Sweet", both seemed appropriate at a party to say 'til we meet again to such good friends.  The party was a great send off...gifts were exchanged with Simon and Anja...we left them with a little ofb42 paraphernalia - T-Shirts and a CD...but most importantly we gave them a print of Longmont with Long's Peak in the back, they will remember their Colorado home every time they look at that picture.  Simon and Anja have been friends of the band since the band formed, we have treasured their friendship, and we hope that their shirts are worn with pride in Tampa and The Netherlands, or where ever their travels bring them.  We also want to thank them for allowing us to play at their party...it was certainly an honor.

By the way there was a few song session with Joseph sitting in at drums.  Also, after the party a few of the band members got together to write a few more originals.  Look for them at our future performances.

Finally, there was no Police Presence, we broke our string.

Lafayette, CO - 31 August 2002 - check out the set list now!

After nearly two months off, ofb42 played for 100 fans at the South Pointe Subdivision “End of Summer Party”.  The band took the stage at 5:30 and ripped through a blistering 48 minute first set.  There was a special request by the party organizer, Andre Padilla, to start the event with the Bruce classic, “Pink Cadillac”.  The crowd was wild from the first note, through the last encore.

The sets were similar to previous performances, although four new songs were added to the groups’ repertoire:  “Gimme Three Steps” – Skynyrd, “Pride and Joy” – SRV, “Livin’ on a Prayer” – Bon Jovi, and “Waitin’ on a Sunny Day” – Bruce.  Researchers believe that this was the first time anywhere in Colorado “Waitin’ on a Sunny Day” was performed.  Bruce will surely perform it when he is at the Pepsi Center on 22 September 2002.

The night provided a few difficulties to the quintet.  The first challenge came at the beginning of the second set, when a power surge blew most of the power to the amplification equipment.  The problem was later diagnosed as a surge when the stage lights came on, as the sun was setting.  Minutes later the guys were back into their set, when a cruiser from the Lafayette Police Force responded to the scene.  The block party organizers had secured a noise permit and showing this document was sufficient to the first officer.  Two songs later, TWO CRUISERS responded, and this time the order was given turn down or else.  Evidently somebody from a neighboring road was not a fan of rock.  Apparently, the complainant was told that there was an orderly party going on across the way, but they responded that they did not move in to this subdivision to hear “Woodstock”.  The band really appreciates the compliment.

The band proceeded to turn down and complete the second set.  This action took some of the wind from the sails of ofb42.  Following a very brief break between the second and third set, the guys came together for a pared down third set.  The crowd was appreciative of the performance, and apologized for the behavior of the Lafayette men in blue and the neighbors from across the way.  The guys were urged back to play two more songs before the noise permit ran out.  The encore featured a long rendition of “Don’t Fear the Reaper”, and ofb42 closed strong with “Authority Song” (how ironic).  The music stopped at 9:00, and thus began the drudgery of breaking down, packing up, and bringing the equipment back home.

(This is now the third event in a row where law enforcement has been called to talk to the band…we are on a roll.)

ofb42 will be playing again soon in the Longmont metro area.  The company store is now open, and more pictures will be posted soon.  Follow Longmont’s own, ofb42, as we break out onto the national music scene.

Longmont, CO - 06 July 2002 - check out the set list now!

ofb42 played for over 150 adoring fans at the 2002 Button Rock Court Annual Block Party.  The fans came from all over the Front Range to see the band.  People have started calling this group Longmont Colorado's Band for Any Party Occasion.  The group has played recently at St. Patrick’s Day, Baby Shower, Birthday and Graduation Parties.  Call backs and referrals are generated out of each event.  They will be playing at a party near you soon.

The festivities started at about 2:00 pm with the band taking center stage at 3:00 pm.  The set list included favorites from Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, John Mellencamp, Billy Idol and a few originals, notably “Sunset Girl” (written by Gordon Wolfgang) as the second song in the third set.  There were screaming leads from “Mr. Metal” Dave Skaare throughout the afternoon.  There was a melodic rendition of the Billy Idol classic “White Wedding” by Brian York to conclude the second set.  The polished Bass lines from Rick Miller were heard all afternoon, keeping the team in line.  And the time was kept flawlessly by Mike Sadowski on the drums…with a wicked “Moby Dick”-esque drum solo in Pink Cadillac halfway through the second set.  Mike Bohl did a great job behind the Eurodesk Mixer.

Each set was punctuated by games and grub provided by the great people of Button Rock Court.  There were a few other unexpected punctuations by Longmont’s finest.  The band was stopped after the second set at about 6:00 pm, and shortly after a five song Encore at 8:00 pm.  They also came by to see if we kept our word at about 10:00 pm, after everything was knocked down.  The band would like to extend our appreciation to the Longmont Police for their understanding and we hope that our welcome has not been worn out.  (By the way this is the second event in a row where law enforcement has been called to talk to the boys in the band…we must be doing something right.)

Keep your eyes open for this gang of six – they will be playing at a venue near you.  Also, flip to our web page regularly for the news, event information, and soon to come the ofb42 company store (CDs and Tee-Shirts).
