CD Lyrics - Thanks Mary

Grace

By Gordon Wolfgang and Mike Gemborys

The frost of fall is coming and she’s not in her place

I go to sleep at night to a cold bed

Next to me where she slept is an empty space

Her gentile ways, her eager smile, the confidence that she fed

See you again in heaven’s eternity

My best and my closest friend

Give me a sign when you’ll be next to me

Together forever we’ll be again

Together forever – Amen

I do not know how will I cope

The biggest fear is being alone

She is dancing with angels or so I know

No need to worry about me I’ll come along soon

Living life always with grace

This beautiful woman did it so

Soon we’ll be standing face to face

Into eternity we will go

Mary’s Smile

By Gordon Wolfgang

I wake up to the picture of Mary’s smile

My day starts with hope, she makes it all right

She is never down, always ready for that next mile

We work hard all day, and come together at night

Mary’s smile is the thing I need

It’s the wealth that draws my greed

Mary’s smile is the thing I need

When I call she asks “how can I help” now

She always has time to make my day

When I don’t understand, she tells me how

At night her moves excite - together we play

Even when there’s a question of her health

Smiles chase away anything that’s blue

It is up to you to define wealth

I dedicate my life in serving you

ROCK ON

Toasted Cheese Sandwiches

By Gordon Wolfgang

When we were kids, baby it was born to run

Took chances, lived hard and our lives were just for fun

Reality took strange turns, as we were growin’ up over time

Commitments were made and these were the ties that bind

Responsibilities came as we traveled through our tunnel of love

Better days came down that thunder road with guidance from above

We learned there is no dress rehearsal for our lives

Act like you’ve been here before, and baby you will survive

Toasted cheese sandwiches until I grew old

This was the way it was supposed to be, or so I’m told

The middle years were great, we had a reason to believe

Not many times to ford, where I had to grieve

She’s the one that thought that we would live forever

It’s a brilliant disguise that two hearts would always beat together

Then the night, the shortness of breath, that shy smile I’ll miss

Raise your hands as we reunite in a everlasting kiss

It dawned on me life is the green room for heaven

The cancer that is killing her, is killing me – it’s given

Before the promised land, make sure your bridges are firm

You can’t come back and fix the ones that fire has burned

As I teared up during “If I Should Fall Behind”, in my life

It’s a fact that I will miss my beautiful wife

Planning on toasted cheese for the rest of my life

But everything has changed, lost without my wife

The Feelings

By Gordon Wolfgang

She cannot express the feelings, the pain

She held it in - did not complain

Her eyes tell me that her love is true

I can only watch, there ain’t nothin’ I can do

It was always, ‘til death do us part

I know how much love we have

Behind every man is a great woman

Have I done all that I can

The energy from her body flows

How much time nobody knows

Always pleasant – she was never pouty

Doesn’t want to spoil the party

This lady has her good days and some bad

It comes and goes with every treatment she had

She is strong, the strength I wish I had

She is fighting this constant beating

Just Ten Minutes

By Gordon Wolfgang

At the end of the ride you always want more

But the conductor says keep on movin’ out the door

When your time is done you can’t get more of it

No matter what you say not even a minute

Just 10 minutes is all that I want to have

To tell my lady it’s her I love

To say how much she really means to me

To share a quiet moment, a laugh and a cry

We lived a good life, always much fun

We kept it interesting, we were always on the run

We had such plans, but now there is no time

The pain will win and then she will be fine

My best friend is now with our maker

I wished for more but he just did take her

To squeeze her hand, kiss her deep and show how very much

The impact to this life she so touched

Stop Crying

By Gordon Wolfgang, Jim Rainbolt, Mike Sadowski, Craig Small, Tony Fiore

I am crying constantly

The pain you feel keeps on hurting me

I am helpless and can’t comfort you

The dedication for our love, it grew

My tireless devotion

My unconditional love

Is yours (Mary) forever

It’s all I can give?

We had such a wonderful beginning

It was confirmed when I gave that ring

We wed so fast my head was spinning

Our right relationship is everything

Then things took a turn for the worse

I fear there is too little time

To me it is some sort of curse

Or is this my test of mind

Alone

By Gordon Wolfgang

Days so slowly pass, they do

Leaving this soon seems so unfair

I feel alone in a crowd without you

Together we completed the perfect pair

(Oh, I’m) Thinking of being incomplete and alone

Sadness deep in my heart

Going to your heavenly home

Another angel becomes as you depart

Walking down Main Street on a sunny day

It’s not the same without you on my arm

Just passing people, as I make my way

With you – there would be no harm

The closeness that we did maintain

Is what I need to not be alone

The memories will be all that remain

I’ll keep them until I too go home

8-East

By Gordon Wolfgang

There wasn’t much time, when she went to that floor

Her eyes were tired - her constitution weak

This time she didn’t strengthen like before

It seemed that we ended our winning streak

And the girls on 8-East

Help for a while to beat back the ugly beast

They did it with care and a (their) love so very tender

Her fight Mary never did surrender

My mind was bounced and trounced to overload

Confusion and hurting, I’m sure it showed

But of course her endless grace was all that glowed

From the care the girls up there bestowed

Some gave up, but not her or those bonded nurses

She fought until the very end (extended by the love she got)

Charity, Jane, Gina, Sherry all beat back the cancer curses

Their constant care, and selfless devotion (will not be forgot)

Three Stars in My Sky

By Gordon Wolfgang

She and I were together for over 20 years

We married and had three terrific kids

Then He took my wonderful lady

But I still have these three stars in my eye

                They make me so proud

                They are so grown up

They will be with me until I die

These three stars in my sky

They create constant excitement oh and so much thrill

They press me until my wits end

They help me when I slip, and then they help me when I fall

To each of them my love I do send

I know they are not so very sure

Of the devotion that I have for each of them

My, my love for them is oh so very pure

These three stars in the sky, my precious gems

Love Song

By Gordon Wolfgang and Michael Hoog

One spring day - when the tree buds are growing

The breeze – your hair does fly

I comfort in your love - just from knowing

You are like the calm blue sky

Your Beauty makes all else pale

Our Love so true will (should, does) never fail

Our hands lock – through the park we walk

Your scent - is spring time fresh

Enjoy the moment - we do not talk

Then we stop - our bodies mesh

My girl, my lady - my only love

No tears - we have each other

Brought together - by a power above

You and I - my only lover

Earthly Saint

By Gordon Wolfgang

She was an earthly saint

Never breaking from her habits

Went through life, nary a complaint

Reading in her chair she sits

At 21 I was much too conservative

We never saw things quite the same

Compassion and sacrifices she was too sensitive

Passing now, I see why she came

Oh, You gave us so much by design

To say goodbye sure woulda been nice

There never is, oh, there never is enough time

I’ll see you again, Mom, in paradise

Always a martyr never thought of herself

Kids, husband, to family she did give

Never asking, sharing, progeny just like herself

Life complete, she did live

Her impact is wide – many call her friend

Contributions will survive forever, and ever, and ever

Together with dad, she has found her heaven

Their brood on its own, equipped for the endeavor

Broken Hearts

By Gordon Wolfgang

How can an already broken heart be broken again

I didn’t think it possible but it is real

With my whole world ‘round me just crashin’ in

No one knowing how much pain that I do feel

Oh, they don’t understand the large hole she left

They think it’s all about me

                How much time must pass

For those who look on to clearly see

All I want is to have someone to be my companion

Someone to make this pain just disappear

I am looking for some silly sort of validation

Someone in my heart, it’s not connection I fear

I’m just telling everyone that I’m making a change

Not to just be alone or wait to die

But to find that closeness, not somethin’ strange

The time is here and now – I’m past the cry

Sunset Girl

By Gordon Wolfgang

I met this girl on highway 99

She jumped into my car, she nearly blew my mind

We drove on down the coast and split a bottle of wine

The sun was going down, it barely gave a shine

My sunset girl, my sunset girl

My sunset girl, she’s my sunset girl

The hours slipped away and we stayed up all night

This was the perfect girl, I knew, I knew she was right

This woman made me smile, she made my life complete

This was the perfect one, this woman sure was sweet

The days passed us by, and she slipped into my life

The time was here and now and captured as my wife

But as the story went, she was had and lost

Truth was together united, romance at all cost

Then we were together for over 20 years

From Munich to Lahaina, so many tears

But finally the story went, she was taken away

Mary is my sunset girl, and I miss her in every way

Thanks Mary

16B

By Gordon Wolfgang

Oh oh oh oh

Sittin’ in 16C on a redeye to LA

Dreaming of getting home to see my baby

Then she shakes me from some far of gaze

Asks is any body sitting in 16B

Oh - I’ve always fanaticized of this exact event

A chance encounter at 39,000 feet

Oh - Who would have thought we would ever meet

Me and that girl in the next seat

She sits down and we exchange pleasant smiles

This blond beauty starts “talkin’ to me”

Conversation goes on for miles and miles

And then the urge to kiss that girl in 16B

I follow my urge and it ain’t just kisses

No problem - she is comfortable with my advance

We embrace all night, in an evening of bliss

Numbers exchanged, plans for our next chance

Cheers

By Gordon Wolfgang and Susan Wolfgang

We just want to say how excited we are for you

Tying the knot that lasts forever

We see a perfect couple, that are you two

It’s wonderful that you all got together

                Congrats to a precious pair

May your seas always be calm

                And your skies so fair

Your future is full of the undiscovered

Explore your lives - so full of joy

Happiness will reinvigorate and help you recover

For there will be stumbles along the way

Cheers to Tony and Margaret

This union - one without regret

The speed at which your lives did certainly merge

Refreshes like the spray from a tidal surge

Life has Just Begun

By Gordon Wolfgang

The breeze dances off your hair

As I sit and watch you

The sun shows off your beautiful curves

But do I dare

Get my nerve up – I walk up to you – oh what the heck

Caribbean salt air

The umbrella topped drinks all with 151

A cruise on the deep blue waters

Opens your mind right up

She might be on every deck chair

With the same thoughts as you

The casino, the shows, the endless party

Make everyone believe

Romance is on every level

And you’ll find the right one

Heading home after 6

Wonderful nights

Numbers exchanged – we’re back on the plane

Life has just begun

My Guiding Light

By Gordon Wolfgang

I once thought I was a broken down man

Lost with out a guiding light in my life

This lady proved to be my biggest fan

She is making life so good, a perfect wife

Dinner and drinks

A movie or a play

Or stay at home

And make love all day

Walks through the door to a waiting man

Her curves so fine, so perfect and firm

Her lips so telling of her thoughts and

Her eyes show deep into her souls urn

I long to be with her every day

But other parts of life get in the way

We take the moments as they rise

Our love so true not a brilliant disguise

My First Kiss

By Gordon Wolfgang

The class bell rings and down the corridor

Signs of affection all around as you walk by

All searching for the right one on these floors

Confidences made broken every day

Oh yeah, I can’t get over this

Oh yeah, my first kiss .. my first kiss .. my first kiss

The one for me was Norma Paradise

For days we played as I built my stance

She was beautiful and thought I was nice

Response just friends from my advance

Sails lost wind and I was hurt

After the party where we had kissed

It was more than a great big start

She let me down - she still is missed

Still friends after all this time

No hard feelings, just some doubt

What would have happened if she were mine

It brings you something to think about

Mist on the Creek

By Gordon Wolfgang and Susan Wolfgang

A drive to church, Mist on the Creek

A new snowfall and an Easter Mass

A family together starting a normal week

Easing to comfortable, they make their pass

Love starts with passion and is so divine

Then smooths to some ordinary days

Those little things that make all the times

                Love captured will always stay

Sitting down to a week night meal

Watching TV on a Tuesday night

Reading books with each other, they feel

Togetherness, love and a guidin’ light

The passion remains, better while ordinary

Times that make life so real

Two hearts together, compliment’ry

Mates forever, it’s a life long deal.
