Jerry Boynton

Lead Guitar and Background Vocals


Jerry "JB" Boynton was born in California and later moved to Texas. JB has been picking at anything with strings on it since the early age of 10. As a kid Jerry says, “I would wait until my older brother went out, and then I would sneak into his room and pull out this old guitar from under the bed and play it for hours!”  JB got his first guitar, a Sears Silverton, when in high school and started playing in garage bands whenever he got the chance.  Eventually he studied music in college and toured with various bands throughout the south-east.  His band experience includes jazz, rock, folk, gospel, and as he says, “I love playing and love the company of others who share the passion for making music.” JB has worked as a session musician for albums with diverse styles from Acid to Acoustic Rock. Today, you can find JB playing with various local artists in the Colorado area, recording, and teaching the craft of playing guitar to others in his home studio in Longmont, Colorado.

On the formal side:  Jerry played and studied jazz at North Texas State University while playing in several bands throughout the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.  Jerry continues his pursuit and love of music in Colorado while doing several musical projects from playing in large church venues to swing bands for the past several years.  At present, he is enjoying the teaching aspect of music and has many students including a blind guitarist from Longmont.  Other passions include playing in Longmont’s very own rock band JudgementDay.
