CD Lyrics - FUTURE CD

THESE SONGS WILL BE APPEARING ON A FUTURE CD.

Make it Stop

By Gordon Wolfgang

Their start happened in the fall of  ‘81

From the beginning their love was always doomed

The house that they made never had any vision

They kept the feelings inside, always entombed - She said

     Escape from the pain

     Don’t do it again

Late nights at the donut shop

     Make it stop

Cold shoulders, tit for tat, some nervous screams

Loud fights, and sleepless nights, they never work it out

Two kids always loose - in this kind of scene

Deep bruises, hard feelings, therapy no doubt – she said

This house is full of hate, no love to render

Pushes her to look for love in every other place

Hoping and searching for some love so tender

A nasty divorce comes in the end, for this case

Time

By Gordon Wolfgang

Time was once something you just had to survive

Older now and looking back at the old age of thirty five

Got three kids, a wife, six cars that I can’t drive

I have made it now, but think to myself “am I really alive?”

Growin’ up coming of age

Searchin’ for that perfect life

While all around is real light

Deeds, friends, progeny and wife

When we are young, baby we’re all born to run

Hard work and hard play, to you, everything is fun

Everything you want, but there’s something you really miss

We don’t take enough time from our life for that sweet kiss

Thinkin’ about all those wasted days

Makin’ sure the rest of your life really pays

The urgency of things cloud all that is true

Promises, traps of success - completely false too

Pains of life are solved sometime before you die

As you put all the things together you’re able to survive

Another Day Without Her Blues

By Gordon Wolfgang

I walk in after another funless day

And all my smiles, they’re, they’re gone away

I throw together another worthless – meal

Livin’ in this fog – I try to deal

I make it through another –  day

Maybe she’ll come back – this time –  to stay

I look into the closet and see all of her things

And wonder what this girl, what she’d wear

The little comments, the timeless dings

Livin’ in this fog – cannot compare

She is with me, she always will

This girl that left me – she gave me a thrill

I miss her badly – when will the hurt go

Livin’ in this fog – my life she filled (she still fills)

The Rookie

By Gordon Wolfgang

It appears that Billy was a rookie at 43

Started as a diversion to help him cope, is that me

A few songs, a band a beat, some poetry

Gave this guy some hope, is this guy me

Did he get to old or did he just get tired

A rut, a dead end, boy he was mired

He didn’t see it coming it was just a job - no more career

It wasn’t that he stopped caring the thrill of the chase - had disappeared

Now the chase is on the other hand the job - the thing that gets in the way

Billy’s family, friends and this pick up band – keep his mind engaged

Did he just get tired or just get old

A rut, a dead end, was the mold

Willow’s Song

By Gordon Wolfgang

Willow was not her given name /  but it was the best she could find

To make ends meet she would work down at the local / Bella’s bump and grind

Those deep brown eyes and crooked smile / showed just what was in her heart

This job just pays the bills; she’s looking for a brand new / she’s looking for a brand new start

Girls, Girls, Girls reads the neon sign

Many men go into see what they can find

Each Lady there has a different reason

For why she does this job

Eight guys come by to show their buddy / to show their buddy a good time

Forty dollars do change hands and he walks under / he walks under the cigar room sign

Ten minutes later he comes out to friend’s there / out to his friend’s applause

She comes by and asks if ev’rythings alright now / then she grabs her next cause

During the day she goes to classes at the university

She’ll be a doctor or such and help society

Dreams it will all end soon, and then the stories she could tell

Now she knows she has to look right for Bella’s clientele

Perfect Dream

By Dave Skaare, Gordon Wolfgang, Rick Miller, Brian York, Mike Sadowski

We were so young, in that Fords back seat

Traveling down a deserted street

Looking for something she might give

Stars would shine together we live

Our bodies quivered and our pores do sweat

We hold on tight, completes the scene (Love entwined, we complete the scene)

The long first night of the day we met

Or is this just the perfect dream

Whisper into her ear, we are alone

Me, this lady’s ample steed

I climb aboard her lovers thrown

It is time we do the dirty deed

Then, I close my eyes - that tender caress

Her soft lips and a tentative kiss

Then the treat comes - it will be quick,

Her taste so sweet, does the trick

Keep Your Head Up

By Gordon Wolfgang

It seemed like my life was just gettin’ good

Made some money and moved out of the old neighborhood

A  beautiful wife, a good job and lots of confidence

Did not see it coming, the damage to life’s fence

Just when you think it can’t get any worse

Something else comes at you – am I cursed

Now it’s time to look for blue sky

It is time to dig deep, not just cry

Then the world came crashing down

First it was the factory moving from my home town

Then word of a sickness that would not let me drive

And to top it all off my father in law – he went and died

The sun comes up and the new day, it arrives

Good and bad happen throughout our lives

Keep balanced, it ain’t half empty

It will be smooth sailing soon, it’s time to try

The Elevator Girl

By Dave Skaare, Gordon Wolfgang, Rick Miller, Brian York, Mike Sadowski

The elevator doors flys open –  and much to my surprise

The sweet aroma of that lady – a beautiful prize

23 floors ‘til I land – and my work day find

You already toiling – at the daily  grind

Our meetings should happen every day

     But alas – it ain’t

You make the days we do

That vision of a perfect saint

My courage is short - and I know not how to

Approach a girl - as beautiful as you

Sometime soon - is what I say

Maybe the next meeting will be that day

Working at your - office desk

Advertising or such - you do not rest

Me the lawyer - down the hall

I wish your heart - to me would fall

Together Again

By Gordon Wolfgang

Your life was honorable – no ignominy

You did not overbear, no hegemony

You contributed fully to all around

Your good deeds do certainly abound

Walked beside you through life – Just hubris

The one girl to put up with my tricks

Your closeness and gentle kiss

Long for the time where everything clicks

The flowing river, the endless waves, the gentle breeze

Are not as complete, with out our sharing

I wish the time could forever freeze

Experiences past – I still keep caring

In the deep recesses of the infinite universe

Where the hand of God is easily seen

We will be together one, after life’s traverse

I will honor you my beautiful queen

We will be together again

My faith tells me that it’s so

The day will come soon my friend

And through eternity we will go
